V. Sterilization, Cooling, and Inoculation

1. Sterilization

Dry wood ear mushrooms are produced seasonally and are generally sterilized at normal pressure (98-100°C for 12-18 hours).

2. Cooling and Inoculation

After sterilization, transfer the bags while still hot to a disinfected greenhouse for cooling. Inoculation can begin when the bag temperature drops below 28°C. If using reusable baskets, leave a gap between the baskets during cooling and use fans to assist in cooling. Generally, cooling overnight (approximately 12 hours) is sufficient.

3. Growth and Growth Management

After inoculation, growth and growth should be managed on-site. Keep the temperature between 24-28°C and the humidity below 70%. Spray the bags and surrounding area with a disinfectant on the day of inoculation. Disinfection and pest control should be performed periodically thereafter, both inside and outside the greenhouse. This will effectively prevent the infestation of pests. Using autoclave sterilization based on factory production methods, liquid spawn is typically filled in 28 days at 24-26°C. After the bags are full, they mature for 7-12 days before opening. This ensures uniform ear growth and facilitates management.

4. Bag Opening

When opening short bags, hold the bag opening close to the bottom of the trap and cut to avoid damaging the material surface, leaving a 4 cm "cap" to prevent water accumulation. Spray with acaricide before opening. When opening long stick bags, remove old spawn blocks and place them on the rack, 8-10 cm apart, with the ears staggered at both ends.
