Layout of the Seed Farm for Hericium erinaceus Production
The layout of each site in the seed farm must be rational. Failure to do so will affect work efficiency
and the yield rate of the seed, thereby impacting the farm's economic benefits. Based on the "Regulations
on the Management of Edible Mushroom Seeds" and production practices, the following layout requirements apply:
① The seed farm must be free of livestock and poultry sheds, garbage (manure) dumps, sewage, and
other pollution sources (such as dust-producing cement plants, brick and tile factories, lime factories,
and timber processing plants).
② Cooling rooms, inoculation rooms, and culture rooms, which require sterility, should be located away
from areas containing bacteria, such as the material yard, drying yard, batching yard, and loading yard.
Furthermore, during peak seed production periods, sterile areas should be located upstream of the wind,
while areas containing bacteria should be located downstream.
③ Cooling rooms, inoculation rooms, and culture rooms, which require sterility, should be connected,
while areas containing bacteria, such as the material yard and drying yard, should also be located close
together to minimize pollution and labor intensity.
④ The production process must be smooth. The layout of the seed farm should be comprehensively
planned based on topography and location. Prevent overlap to avoid causing production confusion.
